Aaand they're gone

We had a front blow through right after Halloween, and it certainly got our sturgeon moving into the estuary and beyond. Here is the last Gulf Sturgeon we collected in the Pascagoula River this year! This little one is making its first foray into saltwater, and is now doing so with a PIT tag. Earlier this fall we recaptured an adult that was originally tagged at about the same size as this one! Hopefully we will get to see it again in the spring (and beyond) as we start sampling for our juvenile, mortality, abundance, kinship, and habitat study in the spring of 2019. As for the rest of this year, we will now focus our tagging efforts in the Pascagoula River estuary and Mississippi Sound. Best of luck little-one!
